About Coast Reading Center
Every child deserves to read with confidence.
Coast Reading Center was founded by a Ph.D.-level literacy educator and college professor with a simple belief: that with the right instruction, every child can become a strong, capable reader. We bring deep academic expertise, a commitment to the science of reading, and genuine care for every student we work with.

Meet the founder
Hi, I'm Dr. Eliana Mukherjee.
Ph.D., Curriculum & Instruction, FAU · M.Ed., Harvard Graduate School of Education · Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia, University of Florida
I'm a college professor, reading specialist, and literacy educator based in Palm Beach County, Florida. My career has been built around one question: why do so many children and adults struggle to read — and what can we do about it?
I teach teacher education at Palm Beach State College and in the Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia program at the University of Florida, where I also earned my own graduate certificate in dyslexia. My academic background spans curriculum and instruction, multicultural education, and the science of reading — and I've spent years training teachers to bring that knowledge into real classrooms.
I founded Coast Reading Center to bring that same expertise directly to students and families in Palm Beach County. Whether your child is struggling with decoding, you're an adult who never got the right instruction, or you're a teacher who wants better tools — I'm here to help.

Our approach
The science of reading, in practice.
Everything we do at Coast Reading Center is grounded in what decades of research tells us about how the brain learns to read. That means explicit phonics instruction, systematic skill-building, and multisensory techniques that engage multiple pathways at once.
We don't use programs that rely on guessing, memorization, or whole-language approaches. We teach the code — and we teach it in a way that sticks.
Explicit
Skills are taught directly and clearly — nothing is left to chance or assumed.
Systematic
Instruction follows a logical, cumulative sequence from foundational skills to complex ones.
Multisensory
We engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways simultaneously to strengthen learning.
Diagnostic
We assess regularly and adjust instruction based on each student's individual progress.
What we believe.
Every child can learn to read
Reading difficulty is not a life sentence. With the right instruction, virtually every child can become a proficient reader.
Parents deserve honest answers
We tell families what we see, what the research says, and what we're going to do about it — no jargon, no runaround.
Teachers need better tools
Most educators were never taught the science of reading. We're committed to changing that through training and professional development.
It's never too late
We work with adults as well as children. Literacy opens doors at every age, and we're here for all of it.
